Laity Day with Bishop Trimble

Saturday, April 25 9:30 am—3:00 pm

Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Urbandale, IA

Bishop Trimble will discuss Five Marks of a Methodist, based on a new book of the same title by Steve Harper in the morning.  His topic in the afternoon will be Poverty to Opportunity. Bishop Trimble is eager to spend time in dialogue and answering questions from laity.

The day will include inspirational worship, communion and music.

Three additional special presentations about exciting ministries wilol include:

Women at the Well (prison congregation) with Reverend Lee Schott

Justice for Our Neighbors (legal help for immigrants) with JFON attorneys Brynne Howard and Ann Naffler

Human Trafficking with Teresa Downing, United Methodist Women resource person and Iowa State University faculty.

The Cokesbury bookstore will have a display.  All books purchased or ordered that day will have a 30% discount plus free shipping. Morning coffee and lunch at noon will provide time for fellowship and the sharing of ideas.

To facilitate planning, please preregister online. There will be an incentive for all who register in advance.  No registration fee required, free will offerings accepted.
