Benefit Spaghetti Supper and Art Sale

There will be a benefit spaghetti supper and art sale on Friday, August 22 starting at 6:00 pm.  The benefit is for the Grimes family, who live in the neighborhood across from the church, and are a very ordinary family doing something extraordinary!  They are adopting a sight impaired teenager.  They really need their community’s support for this endeavor.   Come and help support this family.

Lamplighters is an adult fellowship group that is open to all on a “come when you can” basis. This group meets on a monthly basis in either a home or restaurant.
Lamplighters will be meeting on Saturday, August 16 at 2:00 pm for a potluck and outdoor games at the home of Brenda Conry, 145 N Main St. in North Liberty. Bring a dish to share and your lawn chair.
Brenda Conry and Karen Huntley will be your hostesses.

Free Birds August Events

There are two great options to participate in this month if you are a Free Bird. The Free Bird group is comprised of empty nesters 40+ that are looking to join in fellowship with others.

August 15 we will be going to see the Cedar Rapids Kernels play the Peoria Chiefs. First pitch is at 6:35.  Tickets are $11 each.

August 22 we will be going to the Coralville Performing Arts center to see Bye Bye Birdie, with a twist! The director is performing this high school musical with older, seasoned actors in the teenage roles. Performance is at 7:30 and tickets range from $12 – 22.

Please contact the church office (626-2762) by no later than August 7 to reserve your tickets to these events.

August Men’s Group Dinner

The Men’s Group activity for August will be an outing for dinner at Bobber’s on Monday, August 4 at 6:00 pm.  All men are welcome to join this time of fellowship by the lake at 1850 Scales Bend Rd. North Liberty.  Contact Richard Grugin (248-3535) or Paul Meade (400-5242) if you have any questions or need a ride.  The Men’s Group will resume regular Monday night meetings and study group in mid September.
