The Stories of Jesus

We will continue to work with the parables that Jesus taught in May. While the stories are familiar to a number of us, a second look is warranted to better understand the shocking nature of the parables. These kingdom parables speak to the very nature of God as they challenge us to deepen in our discipleship. Take time to read the following stories prior to worship in order to get more out of the Bible.

May 5 – The Good Samaritan

May 12 – The Rich Young Man

May 19 – The Fig Tree

May 26 – The Widow and the Unjust Judge

Come join us in worship throughout the month of May.

Graduation Time

We will be recognizing our graduates at the May 19 church services. Please notify the office as soon as possible if you have a graduating high school senior, college senior or post-college degree graduate.

We will have a special time during each of our services on Sunday, May 19 to recognize our senior graduates, with a reception following each service.

Easter Worship Times

Join us for Easter worship on March 31. The church will celebrate the resurrection of Christ in four services that morning:

6:45 AM    Sunrise Service — Outdoors

8:00 AM    Traditional Service

9:45 AM   Contemporary Service

11:15 AM   Bi-Lingual Service

Sunrise is at 6:50 am; however we will gather at 6:45 am to begin worship as the sun peeks over the horizon. Just a reminder that the sunrise service is outdoors, rain or shine.

There will be an Easter brunch between the sunrise and the traditional service. This is a pot-luck and all are welcome. Throughout the morning we will celebrate that Christ is Risen. Christ is Risen Indeed!

Good Friday Service

The EPIC (Engaging People In Christ) youth group will lead our Good Friday service on March 29 at 7:00 pm. This somber service allows us to hear the story through scripture and song. While the text is familiar, the Holy Spirit will open the words to fresh meaning. Make time in Holy Week to follow Jesus.

Holy Week Prayer Room

The Prayer Team is setting up a prayer room in the Library for prayer leading up to Easter. There will be some prayer stations to provide suggestions and assistance for prayer needs. You may wish to pray for our community, our church or your personal requests. Hours are Good Friday (March 29) from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and Saturday (March 30) from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Come and take advantage of this quiet time.

Mardi Gras Sunday

It’s time to pull out your purple, green and gold to celebrate Mardi Gras Sunday before the Lenten season begins. On Sunday, February 10, we will celebrate God with music, song and dance. While the 8:00 am service will remain a traditional service, the 9:45 and 11:15 am services will feature the music from the Mardi Gras Band. We will sing the old favorites, “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” and “When The Saints Come Marching In”. It’s a time to celebrate before the reflective time of Lent, so join us with your beads, your purple, green and gold clothing, and you excitement to worship God in a slightly different way.

Ash Wednesday

We enter the Lenten season with a special time of individual reflection on Wednesday, February 13 from 6:00—8:00 pm in the Sanctuary. We will have the labyrinth set up with various stations around the sanctuary with readings and opportunities to begin your reflective time of Lent. This year’s Lenten theme is about wandering and searching for God. The sanctuary will be open from 6:00 to 8:00 pm for each person to take as much time as they wish to wander through the labyrinth. For those who would like it, Josh Rath will be on hand to impose the ashes from the palm.
