We have 2 Women’s Groups starting up soon! Interested in joining either one of them? Contact Dani Gryp at email@example.com or give her a call at (319) 631-2373. Book orders for both groups will be placed on Tuesday, September 8.
Book Group– Tuesdays from 7:30-8:30- The Faith Dare- 30 Days to Live Your Life to the Fullest by Debbie Alsdorf. The Faith Dare is a 30 day challenge for women who want to develop a new habit of focusing on God’s ways and daily awareness of his presence. It is for women who are tired of ho-hum living and want to break the pattern of self- reliance and people pleasing by putting their trust in God along and living to please him. This book includes daily readings, affirmations and challenges to help you to live in the power of God’s word. This study, led by Dani Gryp, will begin Tuesday, Sept. 15 and will meet for 5 weeks. The book cost is $13.
Study Group– Wednesdays from 7:30-9- Stepping Up by Beth Moore. Stepping Up takes a look at the pilgrimage theme found in Psalms 120 and 134 and explores the major feasts of Israel. For the ancient Israelites, pilgrimage was a three-times-per-year journey to the temple in Jerusalem; for New Testament believers all of life becomes a journey together toward the new Jerusalem. This study gets deeper into The Word with daily readings and reflection. Laura Bibby, will lead this 7 week group beginning Wednesday, September 16. The book cost is $18.
Acabella is the adult bell choir for our church. Rehearsals will resume on Monday, August 31 from 7:00—8:00 pm in the Sanctuary.

We have had a wonderful time in past month meeting on Wednesday mornings at 6:30am at HyVee in Coralville for breakfast and Bible study. If you are considering joining us, I would highly encourage you to do so; it has been a blessing for all of us. We have decided to continue meeting for the next five weeks and evaluating after that if we will continue throughout the summer, we will definitely begin again in the fall.
We have wrestled and discussed some great chapters in Ephesians over the past few weeks; it has been life giving to all of us. I am excited to say that we have three churches joining together for this breakfast; North Liberty First UMC, New Horizons UMC, and Coralville UMC. It’s wonderful to get men together from different churches so we can learn from each other. Even if you can’t make it each week, I encourage you to try and come to as many of them as you can.
Here is the schedule for the next month. I hope to see you there.
June 3 – Ephesians 6
June 10 – Philippians 1
June 17 – Philippians 2
June 24 – Philippians 3
July 1 – Philippians 4
