Our Family Ministries are really thriving. Within Children’s ministry, our nursery teaches also practice a curriculum aimed just for toddlers and little ones. Ministry to our youngest ones should not simply be childcare, it should be a launching pad for nurturing the infants and toddlers into an integral beginning—a place of prayer where young children hear the foundation Bible stories, learn simple truth statements, in a way catered to them.
We are also seeing this trend at EPIC, where we are seeing our students bring more friends each week as they dive mote into the Bible than ever before! At every EPIC meeting we have students bring their Bibles and highlighters in, volunteering to read, and answering some hard questions that help them discover and own their faith.
This is an exciting time to be part of Family Ministry, and we could not do it without all of our wonderful volunteers.
Yours In Christ,
Director of Family Ministries

Confirmation is under way for 9 youth and their mentors. Each week they dig further into their faith journey and our Christian beliefs. We are looking forward to a Confirmation Retreat at Pictured Rocks in Monticello in March. Who doesn’t love rock climbing, faith trails and lots of fun games?? Can’t wait!
EPIC high school youth have started a new curriculum series called Life Choices—Trusting God in Life’s Decisions and Challenges. We are seeing some great discussion happening about the issues that impact our daily lives and our faith. The Youth are also actively designing the new Youth space for the Building Expansion. Slides and Hammocks are so far highest on their “want” list. The Youth Team’s list includes couches for discussion spaces, chairs and tables for projects and maybe a new Foosball table. We are thrilled to be able to open the new Youth Space up during the week which I believe will really impact our teen ministry.
Another big event coming up in 2015 is our High School Mission Trip to Hannibal, MO. July 5—11. We will be serving the people of Hannibal in need of home repair and construction. We are still looking for one adult male to join our team. Feeling that God “nudge” to get out and do something new?
Please consider joining us—it is a great opportunity to serve others and share in outreach with our kids.

March 7—8 Confirmation Retreat at Pictured Rocks
No puedo esperar!

Hard to believe it’s already May, wow this year has flown by at the speed of light. Thank you to everyone who enjoyed our pancake breakfast a few weeks ago, it was an amazing fundraiser. It is always fun seeing people gather together to share a meal and talk about life around the table. As always we have a blast making the church smell like sausage all day long and seeing how many pan-cakes we can fit on the grill. Thank you to everyone who donated supplies and money, we greatly appreciate your donation Continue reading “EPIC (Engaging People In Christ)”
