North Liberty Community Pantry Gardens

Our new Garden Coordinator, Ilsa DeWald, was born and raised in central Iowa.

She attended the University of Iowa where she studied Environmental Science and  Sustainability. Ilsa became very invested in the UI Student Garden during her time at the U of I. The UI Student Garden is operated by students and volunteers to increase UI campus community awareness about local food including community health, the local economy, and the care of the environment.  Ilsa was also an intern at the UI Office of Sustainability for 3 years promoting student leadership and community emphasis on environmental education. Ilsa has met many passionate and motivated people dedicated to improving their community, and she can’t wait to expand her horizons to the community of North Liberty.
