Shifting Gears – NLFUMC Bike Ministry

The Bike Ministry is a North Liberty community volunteer bicycle program that
repairs donated bikes. The bicycles are then given out to support children and
adults that have limited options for transportation in our community for social
networking or providing transportation to and from work.

In 2022 we gave out 120 bicycles, making the total numbers since 2009 850
bicycles given out, saving 11 tons of bicycles going into the landfill.

Hours: 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month May through August 2023 from 5:00 PM –8:00 PM

Donate:
We take bikes in all sizes and conditions to repair or use for parts. If you want to
donate a bike you can leave it in front of the double door garage at the First
United Methodist Church, 85 N. Jones Blvd, North Liberty at any time or during
volunteer hours.

Volunteer:
Volunteers are welcome the first and third Wednesday of the month, May –
August: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Volunteers need no experience in bicycle repair.
We join together in helping one another learn about bike repair and maintenance.
