LGBTQ

At the beginning of 2020, our church made a statement on inclusion.  We adopted a position of support and welcome embrace to the LGBTQ+ community in contrast to the General Conference’s decision of exclusion made in 2019.  Our church’s mission calls us “To follow and invite others….”  This is not a passive mission, but an active one.  To act upon our mission we offer classes with the goal of growing into the followers that our faith calls us to be.  These classes will be geared towards adults for now, and will aim to offer insights and facilitate discussion on the current issues facing the LGBTQ+ community as well as our church.

Goals: All people are made in God’s image; Making Everyone welcome in our church; Ensuring Everyone feels Gods love and acceptance; Helping repair harm done to the LGBTQ+ community by churches in the past; Striving to be a welcoming place for all who seek God’s love; supporting each other on our faith journey; Informing and facilitating engagement between the church and the LGBTQ+ community
